Governor Sanwo-Olu Appoints New Radio Lagos General Manager

Governor Sanwo-Olu has appointed a new Radio Lagos General Manager.
EKOHOTBLOG reports that Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the appointment of Mr. Olajide Isiaka Lawal as the General Manager of Radio Lagos/Eko FM with immediate effect.
The appointment of the new General Manager was made known via a statement signed by the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, on Tuesday.
This online news platform reports that the appointment of Lawal followed the statutory retirement of the erstwhile General Manager of the Agency, Mrs. Ayo Shotonwa, on October 8, 2021.
Lawal, prior to his appointment, was the Head of the Public Affairs Unit in the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture.
Muri-Okunola stated that the latest appointment stemmed from Mr. Governor’s confidence in the appointee’s demonstrated commitment to quality service delivery in the field of communication.
He further noted that Lawal has served in more than 12 Ministries, Departments and Agencies in his 25 years of service to the Lagos State Government.

The Lagos Head of Service enjoined the newly appointed General Manager to take the agency to greater heights.
Muri-Okunola added that the former General Manager built a highly motivated workforce in Radio Lagos and laid a good foundation for growth in the organisation, thanking her for the diligent service to Lagos State.
Lawal joined the Lagos State Public Service on December 23, 1994 and rose through the ranks over the years to the post of Deputy Director (Public Affairs) before his present appointment as General Manager.
A consummate Public Relations and Advertising professional, the new General Manager holds a Master’s Degree in Legal Studies in addition to his academic credentials in Mass Communication.
