Richard Madeley Announces Break from Good Morning Britain

• Richard Madeley appeared to confirm his stint on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! as he announced a break from Good Morning Britain.
• The full celebrity line-up hasn’t been confirmed just yet, although viewers could soon see Richard taking part.

Ekohotblog reports that Richard Madeley has confirmed that his appearance on Good Morning Britain will be his last for a while.

The 65-year-old announced that he would not be returning until after Christmas, despite rumors that he would be permanently replacing Piers Morgan.

Susanna Reid and Richard were wrapping up Wednesday’s show when Richard dropped the bombshell that he wouldn’t be in charge for a while.

Speaking to his co-star he explained that he would be venturing off to sample food on a mysterious trip – believed to be for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

He said: “Now then, I’ve got places to go and people to see and things to eat.

“Interesting things to eat.”

“Have you?” asked a smirking Susanna.

“So I’ll be back very soon after Christmas. So it’s my last show for a while. Yes.

Joking, Susanna asked: “How do we say goodbye in Welsh?”

“I was going to ask you that,” chirped the ITV star.

It was previously reported that the TV veteran had landed the role alongside Susanna Reid and would be paid an estimated £300,000 per year for the presenting gig on the ITV show.

However, the host’s representatives have since refuted the rumors.

According to The Sun, the former This Morning host was about to fulfil a permanent position after he’d appeared on, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The publication explained that negotiations were underway with trying to work out what days of the week he’d work.

A source told the same publication: “Richard has always maintained he would never do GMB full-time, as he loves his life as it is.

“But as the weeks have gone by, and he’s proven a constant hit with viewers, he’s really got into his stride and has been enjoying it more and more.

“He polls really well with fans and ratings have steadily been on the rise again over the past six months.
