Malala gave no other information about her husband apart from his first name. Internet users identified him as Asser Malik, general manager of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s High Performance Centre.

Malala as she’s mononymously called in 2014 became the world’s youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate at the age of 17.

In 2012, Malala gained global recognition when she was shot in the head by the Taliban in Pakistan while advocating for the right of education for girls.

After this life threatening incident, she and her family went to the United Kingdom to receive treatment.

When Malala was 16 years old, she delivered a speech at the United Nations headquarters on the importance of gender equality in education.
