IPC has announced date to launch public presentation of publication on NBC code.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the International Press Centre (IPC) has fixed Thursday, November 11 as the date to launch the media and public presentation of question marks on the 6th NBC Code Amendments.
In a statement on Wednesday signed by Lanre Arogundade, the executive director of IPC, he said the event will take place at IPC conference hall, Dideolu Estate, Ogba in Lagos state on Thursday at exactly 11am.
Arogundade said: “The publication is a compendium of the views of a Consortium of Independent Broadcasters and Free Press Advocates on the contentious ammendments.

“The publication is a major response to what was perceived as a grand design by the authorities to stiffle the broadcast media in Nigeria considered to be profoundly germane to the nation’s democracy, particularly for the grassroots.
“It is especially intended to enhance a deeper understanding of the issues at stake on the recent amendments to the 6th Edition of NBC Code.
“It will equally serve as an advocacy tool against the arbitrariness and draconian tendencies of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).
“The launch will be attended by media and communication practitioners; media scholars, media organisations, media unions and other key stakeholders.”
