-
The PDP national leaders have been doing the below ahead of Osun and Ekiti governorship elections.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that ahead of the Osun and Ekiti states governorship elections, the national leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Southwest have resolved to take practical steps to woo aggrieved leaders in the zone.
It was learnt that the decision was taken at its meeting held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Tuesday.
The executives of PDP in southwest have reviewed its strength and chances, particularly in the two states where governorship election will hold next year, and concluded that it was pertinent to bring aggrieved leaders and members back to the fold in order to have better chances of winning.

Both states are currently being governed by All Progressives Congress (APC).
The zonal spokesman, Chief Sanya Atofarati, told The Nation that the executive already set up committees that will woo aggrieved members back, adding that the committees would be inaugurated next week.
He said the topmost point on the new zonal chairman Chief Soji Adagunodo’s agenda is unification of members across the six states in the zone.
His words: “As specific measures, committees were set up to work with the chairman for zonal tour which is to commence with visit to Ekiti State, tentatively, next week.
“During this visit, the committee shall interface with party leaders and stakeholders to find a lasting peace within the party across the region.
“Top on Chief Adagunodo’s agenda is unification of party members and stakeholders to ensure the party is returned to its previous winning culture.”
The party has been struggling to return to power in the zone since 2009 when it lost Ekiti to the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).
It lost Osun to APC in 2010, Oyo and Ogun in 2011 while Ondo State also came under the governance of the APC in 2016.
The PDP has only reclaimed Oyo in 2019.
