EKO HOT BLOG reports that Operatives of the Western Nigeria Security Network, WNSN, known as Amotekun Corps, have rescued nine kidnap victims including two toddlers in Osun State.

The victims were rescued after they were kidnapped at the Ipetumodu axis of the state along the Ilesha-Akure highway while on their way from Lagos to Ado-Ekiti.

The rescue operation was carried out by the joint team of Amotekun in Ondo and Osun states involved in the inter-border patrol in the southwest.

A few days ago, the WNSN, deployed no fewer than 310 Amotekun operatives to man inter-state borders and major routes in Ondo, Osun, Ekiti and Ogun states in order to checkmate activities of criminals within the region.

The victims, who took off from Lagos around 5:00 pm, were said to have been waylaid by the kidnappers who took them to their den in the thick forest.

According to the Chairman of the Council of Amotekun Commanders in the South West region, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, his men swung into action after following a distressed call received by the corps.

“It was along Ipetumodu axis in Osun state and when we got to a village about 10km away from the road.

“We found out that the den is a regular dump area for Kidnappers because we found so many items which show that it is a permanent place where they keep kidnap victims,” he said.

The Amotekun boss added that operatives of corps have continued to comb the forest in order to arrest the kidnappers.

While narrating her ordeal, one of the victims, Ife Balogun, who was travelling to Ado-Ekiti to celebrate Christmas with her grandma said the kidnappers kept them in the forest for several hours before the intervention of Amotekun corps.
