As early as 7:00 am, this online media platform witnessed as the venue began to welcome the august visitors in their hundreds for an event slated for 10:00 am.
The celebration which called for the presence of political leaders, party faithful, APC Apex women, executives and the legislative arm of the LCDA was held on Thursday, December 30th at the council premises.
The reason wasn’t far-fetched as the visionary administration of Hon Ismail Monsuru Akinloye had made provisions for customised vests, food and gift packs for the adorable youngsters of the LCDA.
The event which was well-attended by the womenfolk and their male counterparts from all walks of life across the LCDA was indeed an avenue to interact, connect and make merriment with the future leaders through educative games, dance, music food, drinks, gifts and other forms of entertainment that heralded the colourful event which could also pass as a reunion. This is because families, friends, loved ones and well-wishers transformed the thrilling event into a veritable relaxation and leisure platform.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the LCDA, Hon Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, appreciated parents and guardians for making it to the event.
He applauded party faithful and members of staff of the LCDA for their unflinching support towards the success of the celebration.
He further gave kudos to the immediate past administration for setting the pace in the past 4 years. This, he said, provided an ample opportunity for his administration to sustain.
He, therefore, appealed to the good people of Eredo LCDA to continue to support the resolve of his administration to deliver the projects and programs mapped out to engender all-inclusive governance and at the same time the dividends of democracy.
In her address, the chairperson, Mrs Oyin Ismail, also corroborated the position of the Chairman by disclosing to the gathering that the administration found the Annual Kiddies Funfair an event worthy to be sustained.
While expressing excitement at celebrating the end of the year funfair with the children, she noted that since governance is a continuum, it was pertinent to retain the beautiful program because learning and fun are inseparable.
She also stated that it has been proved to be a veritable platform to discover talents amongst children of diverse educational backgrounds across the LCDA.
“I consider it a great honour and privilege to be the host to kick off the anniversary celebration, the first edition of its kind in this administration. Certainly, fun is of primary importance in any learning process. Therefore, we all must realize that learning cannot last and will not be effective without an element of fun. Fun could also be a good motivation for learning sometimes. It is part of the learning process as a whole,” she said.
However, she promised that relevant steps shall be taken to improve the performances of the children in the area of extracurricular activities.
She thereby made a passionate appeal to parents to concentrate more on the moral, religious and academic upbringing of their children which she described as a catalyst to communal and national growth.
Notable personalities who joined the celebration include; representatives of Hon Wale Raji and Princess Remi Adebowale; the Vice Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Hon. Adesanya Lateef; Leader of the House, Hon Bakare Olowo; Eredo APC Chairman, Hon. Mahmud; Wife of APC Apex Leader, Alhaja Odeyemi; Eredo LCDA Apex Leader, Chief Mrs Dolapo Oladunjoye; Hon Sulaimon; Alhaja Olaide Onabokun; and a host of other dignitaries.
