3 Nigerian Musicians who may need to give their fans more in 2022
In 2021, Nigerian music ruled the world! A lot of Nigerian musicians dished out award-winning tunes in 2021. Beautiful songs from Grammy awards winners, Burna Boy and Wizkid, and from fast-rising talents like Omalay and Fireboy and Joeboy, made Nigeria music top billboard charts!
However, there are artists that didn’t really hit the headlines last year or hit the headlines late, that may need to give their fans something more to jive about this year.
Lil Kesh
Keshinro Ololade was the rave of the moment between 2014 and 2018! He was so good, that his big brother in the music industry, Olamide practically fought a world-class music producer, over an award that Olamide felt Lik Kesh deserved.
However, for like two years after 2018, he went silent! Why he went silent, nobody knows, but in 2021, he seemed to have decided to make a come back into the Naija music World. With jams like “Don’t call me” featuring Zinoleesky and “Love like this” featuring Fireboy DML, he showed music lovers he still had it in him. This year, he may want to improve on a good comeback he had late last year.
Reekado Banks
The former Mavin Records signee was at the centre of a beef between Olamide and Don Jazzy sometime between 2015 to 2016! The beef began after Olamide felt Reekado Banks had no reason to be awarded ‘the next rated’ award at the Headies in 2015.
However, just like a flash in the pan, Reekado Banks music career started blossoming during the beef period. With jams such as ‘Oluwani’ and ‘Easy jeje’, he was virtually bursting every speaker.
Sadly, from 2018, he stopped being a hit in the Naija music industry. The good news is that last year, he came back with a banger, ‘Ozumba Mbadiwe’. The song was practically Reekado Banks rebirthed. In 2022, all he has to do is keep on dishing out hit songs, again.
Kizz Daniels
Is it his break-up with his former record label that slowed him down or what? Kizz Daniels was in your speakers, virtually everywhere you went to, several years ago. To be fair on him, even after his famous fight with his ex record label, he still dished out great songs.
The problem was with his publicity! He seemed not to have the same media aura like he had before. This year, he has to work on building himself up back to the level he was when he sang ‘Sin City’.
