Investiture Ceremony: Tunde Thani Becomes 8th President Of Ivory League Of Progress
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the investiture ceremony of Ivorian Tunde Thani as the President of the IVORY LEAGUE OF PROGRESS was held on Sunday 9th January 2022 at the Golden Gate Restaurant, Ikoyi, Lagos.
The ceremony which was graced by royal fathers, CEO’s of notable establishments, family members, friends, and all other members of the club did not only provide titles but also conferred responsibilities to the newly elected president and other executives, to take charge of the league and take it to the height they desire with their leadership, decision making skills, communication, and teamwork.
The Ivory League of Progress is essentially a socio-philanthropic organisation that finds relevance in the society, the need-areas of its immediate environment and the progress and well-being of its members which is aptly inspired by the mission of the club “to promote the material and spiritual well-being of members and impact positively on the society”.
Ivorian Tunde Thani as fondly called is a philanthropist who recently facilitated a non-profit care centre (Thani Oladunjoye Old People Care Centre) for senior citizens in his community, Epe, Lagos State, and had run the club for a first tenure during the covid-19 pandemic and now elected to run a second term for the next two years.
Ivorian Thani who spoke to EKO HOT BLOG at the investiture ceremony opened up on how much work is ahead of him, as well as, how he and other executives need to keep striving to meet the Leagues set goals.
He said, “It’s a second term for me and it’s also a challenge that I need to do more than I did before, following the documentary on the philanthropic activities that the club had done in the past, the sponsorship and the scholarship, the donation of wheelchairs, the palliatives we distributed during the pandemic and so much more.

“Now that I’ve been re-elected for a second term, the challenge is to really do more, double our efforts to do more than we did in the past.
“One of the expectations during my second tenure is to first work on the membership of the club and attract more younger and enthusiastic members and increase our impartment.
“We’ve been able to sponsor two students, but now we want to increase it to 100 by giving them N500,000 (five hundred thousand naira only) per annum; we donated 20 wheelchairs the last time, and now we want to take it up to 100 and we also want to be alert and make more contributions when we have natural disasters (although we don’t pray for this), but when they come, we want to be ready to take on them and make our contributions, and give out relief materials to the affected”
He extended his hearty thanks to those who’ve been supportive and have taken their time out to celebrate him.
“One good turn deserves another they say; this massive turn out of friends and family is an indication of my commitment to care for those around me. Whatever good thing one finds himself doing, I can only advise him to keep it up and do more. I want to say a big thank you to everyone who took out time to celebrate with me today, God bless you all”
Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Abiodun Tobun also present at the occasion lauded the Ivory League Progressive newly re-elected president’s efforts to contribute to the advancement of humanity.
He said, “As we can see, this is a service to God and service to humanity, I commend the club for all the great things they’ve done to support the advancement of the society and the habitant.
“I pray God be with them, strengthen them and continue to provide for them.
“My advice to Mr. Tunde as he’s running his second tenure is that he continues to do more, contribute more to the development of the club and service to humanity, and I wish him all the best always.”
