Lagos Task Force Raids, Impounds hundreds of Motorcycles in Berger Okada Park
It was a frightening scene Thursday afternoon at the Kosoko way, Off Akute Road, Berger Lagos, as a Lagos task force made up of hundreds of police officers, raided the Berger Okada park.
Amidst sporadic gunshots and teargas properties worth millions of naira were destroyed, just as hundreds of commercial motorcycles popularly called “Okada” were confiscated.
According to some of the victims of the raid, they are unaware of any notice for them to relocate from that park. So, the police task force coming to confiscate their source of personal income is coming to them as a huge surprise.
This online media platform gathered that the Kosoko road is some feet away from the restricted expressway and the road shares a boundary with Ogun State.

The victims complained that the task force officers have no reason to destroy their source of livelihood since the location is not in a strategic place.
All the shops in and around the Berger bus stop commercial axis were closed due to fear of harassment by the police officers and concerns about possible stray bullets.
An eyewitness, Abiola, popularly known as Actor Berger, one of the union leaders on that axis, said that the task force officers visits there countless times to raid.
He said the road isn’t any of the restricted roads by the Federal Government.
“The road is called Kosoko road, and it’s no way close to the restricted federal road, and also this place is a boundary between the Lagos State and Ogun State.
“I wonder why they would leave other places to come for the innocent ones here, in all sincerity, we avoid all the restricted areas by the government but these people still went ahead to destroy things just to get hold of bikes within and outside the area
“Although they’ve always been coming around, but they never told us anything about relocating our present location, they came in here as early as 6 am this morning and went away with more than 200 motorcycles.
“We tried as much to sort out things with them and also to know the reasons behind their raid and impounding of more than 200 motorcycles, but all they could do was attack us with guns and other harmful objects.
“We appeal that the state government look into this and help make justice,” he said.
