According to Nzenwa, Sowore was expelled from the party in 2019 and hence is ineligible to compete for president.

Sylvester Cletus, the party’s national publicity secretary, made this information available to journalists in Abuja on Tuesday.

According to the statement, it was necessary to clarify the air and inform the public that the party had neither provided authorization nor was aware of the declaration made under its umbrella.

It went on to say that Sowore was aware of his status as a member of the party.

The statement read that “The National Secretariat of the party in Abuja has cleared the air that Sowore’s purported intention to contest for president on AAC platform when he knew he had long been expelled from the party shows it is a joke taken too far.”

While the party supports someone who is credible, responsible, patriotic, charismatic, and shares the party’s mission, it will not support someone like Sowore, according to the party.

The message went on to say that their tickets were not for anyone who were disturbing the country’s national peace, unity, or growth.

While greeting new members, the party reaffirmed its opposition to Sowore.

The party started, “That is one reason AAC will not offer tickets to its expelled members, jokers with a myopic view of national development and political buccaneers masquerading as democrats to hoodwink unsuspecting members of the public.”
