Kidnappers Abduct 2 Siblings In Ogun, Demands ransom

EKO HOT BLOG reports that In Ayetoro community, Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, gunmen kidnapped two siblings, Esther Kehinde, 20, and David Kehinde, 15.

On Tuesday evening, March 8, the siblings were kidnapped while doing laundry on Oremeji Street in the Joga district of Ayetoro.

According to a local, the kidnappers contacted the victims’ families less than 12 hours after the abduction and demanded N15 million in ransom.

Abimbola Oyeyemi, a spokesperson for the State Police Command, confirmed the kidnapping on Thursday, March 10, and said the police were on the lookout for the kidnappers.

The Yewa North Patriotic Forum, a local youth group, has expressed displeasure with the incident, claiming that the state is no longer safe for residents.

“People now hold vigils to defend their families,” the group stated in a statement signed by its Secretary, Ganiu Fatolu.

According to sources, an elderly guy who was present at the site challenged the kidnappers, but they beat him in the head, knocking him out.

Recall that there has been recent killings in Ogun State one of which was Chief Akin Muheedeen, the Baale of Olowe Gbagura in Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State, who was reportedly killed by hoodlums.

They also allegedly set fire to his body, leaving residents fearful and tense about the possibility of a big crisis erupting in the neighborhood.

The tragic occurrence occurred only seven weeks after the palace of Olu of Agodo, Oba Ayinde Odetola, in Ewekoro Local Government Area was besieged by armed hoodlums who burned him and three of his aides fire after they were gruesomely slain.

The incident in Olowe Gbagura community, it was gathered, occurred on Monday when community leader had gone out to observe the Islamic morning prayer (Subhi).
