Van Nistelrooy gets his first coaching role with a top club.
- Ruud van Nistelrooy has officially been unveiled as PSV’s new coach from 2022-23 onwards.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Ex-Manchester United and Netherlands striker, Ruud van Nistelrooy, will take over as manager of PSV Eindhoven from next season, the Dutch club confirmed on Wednesday.
Van Nistelrooy, who played for PSV between 1998 and 2001, will replace Roger Schmidt.
Schmidt will leave the role at the end of the current campaign.

The PSV job will be Nistelrooy’s first as a first-team manager and the 45-year-old has signed a contract through 2025.
“A few things have come together the past few months.
“The appointment of Marcel Brand as PSV’s general manager and the conversation we’ve had were the final push I needed to make a conscious choice and take this step.
“PSV is ready to embark on a new path this summer and I am ready to play my part. Talks with the board of directors have reinforced the idea that we are ambitious and look to create something special in the long term. I am excited for the task at hand at PSV,” Van Nistelrooy said in a PSV statement.
Van Nistelrooy, who retired from playing in 2012, scored 35 goals in 70 appearances for the Netherlands.
