The kidney is no doubt one of the most important organs in the human system. It has so many functions, if it has any problem, our entire body would suffer severely. This is why we must try as much as possible to keep it healthy.

1. Excess Salt
Calcium accumulation in urine can be exacerbated by high salt levels in the body. Don’t season your food with salt, and read the labels on processed items to see how much sodium they contain. Although fast food is high in sodium, conventional restaurant cuisine can also be high in sodium. If you have the opportunity, inform them that salt should not be added to any menu items you order. Also, be cautious of what you consume. Sodium is abundant in several vegetable juices.
2. Excess Animal Protein
Proteins such as red meat, pork, chicken, poultry, and eggs all contribute to an increase in uric acid production. Consuming a lot of protein lowers the level of a molecule called citrate in your urine. The function of citrate is to avoid the growth of kidney stones.
3. Foods with High Oxalates
Oxalate is a naturally-occurring compound in plants, and we consume them in our diets. Some common foods that contain these Oxalates are leafy green and legumes. We can say It is good for our body’s development, but, on the other hand, it can increase the risk of kidney stones in some people because they bind to calcium as they exit the body.

4. Added or Artificial Sugar
Sugars and syrups added to processed foods and beverages are examples of added sugars. Sugar can be found in processed foods like cake, fruit, soft drinks, and juices, so keep an eye on how much you eat. Added sugars include corn syrup, crystallized fructose, honey, agave nectar, brown rice syrup, and cane sugar.
