EKO HOT BLOG reports that Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, held a closed-door meeting with several other politicians aspiring for the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) ticket in the 2023 elections on Wednesday.
Wike, who has expressed interest in running for the presidency in the coming elections, welcomed the candidates in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.
Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, former Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, Governor of Sokoto State, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, and former Managing Director of FSB International Bank, Dr Mohammed Hayatu-Deen were among those who attended the closed-door meeting.
Governor Wike explained to reporters after the meeting that their main goal is to maintain unity within the party and to make Nigerians satisfied during the upcoming elections.
According to Wike, the PDP is planning to devise strong methods to help the main opposition party win the presidential election in 2023.

“Our interest is the party’s unity,” he stated. Our goal is to make Nigerians happy by ensuring that the PDP gains control of the government by 2023, as Nigerians have been patiently waiting.
“And I can assure you that we are going to work as a team to make Nigerians happy”.
