EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, has stated that the conflict in Ukraine was the “correct decision.”

Putin called the seven-week-old conflict “inevitable” because it will achieve a great goal.

He made the remarks during a public address on Tuesday to commemorate Yuri Gagarin’s 61st anniversary as the first man in space.

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that he had no choice but to strike Ukraine in order to safeguard the Russian-speaking Donbas region.

“On the one hand, we are assisting and saving people; on the other side, we are merely taking steps to safeguard Russia’s security.”
