EKO HOT BLOG reports that Kylian Mbappe has agreed a new two-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain worth £820,000-a-week, according to reports.
The French superstar’s current deal is set to expire this summer, with Real Madrid desperate to sign him on a free transfer
Mbappe, 23, had been expected to agree a pre-contract with the Spanish giants after PSG’s Champions League round of 16 clash with Madrid in March.
No such deal materialised, however, with the forward now appearing likely to stay in Paris.
According to Le Parisien, Mbappe has agreed “in principle” to a two-year extension at PSG, with a staggering £85million signing-on fee. The report added that he will pocket an equally eyewatering £820,000-a-week.
The two-year deal will contain an option for a third, while Mbappe will also possess greater control over his image rights.
He is also determined to be surrounded by a squad of players with a stronger mentality, something he feels is currently lacking.
A statement from Mbappe’s mother, however, has refuted that the deal has reached completion.
It read: “There’s NO agreement in principle with Paris Saint-Germain or any other club.
“Discussions around Kylian’s future continue in great serenity to allow him to make the best choice, in the respect of all the parties”
Under-pressure PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino recently proclaimed that neither he nor Mbappe would be leaving the club this summer.
The Argentine said: “As of today, I’m 100 per cent staying – and same for Kylian Mbappe.”
Fans were left convinced that Mbappe was preparing to move yesterday, when a picture emerged of his possessions being packed up.
Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti gave a cryptic answer when asked about a possible swoop for PSG’s No7.
Despite speculation surrounding his future, Mbappe has continued to excel for PSG this season.
