OfEDITOR’S PICK:

You may be suffering from typhoid fever yet mistakenly believe you are suffering from malaria. When some of us get this fever, we unintentionally start treating ourselves for malaria without proper diagnosis.

This is dangerous, typhoid fever is caused by inflammation of our intestinal tracts by the bacteria in the water and food that we consume. However, malaria is caused by being infected with plasmodium parasites.

These plasmodium parasites enter our bodies when we are bitten by mosquitoes, especially anopheles. However, a rise in our body temperature happens when someone is infected with either typhoid fever or malaria.

Well, in this article on EKO HOT BLOG we would be looking at signs you have typhoid fever and not malaria.

1. Unstable Fever

When you have typhoid, you have a fever that comes and goes. You get a high body temperature within the first few days.

The fever will subside. You have a fever at one time and don’t have a fever at another. This continues until the situation deteriorates. Malaria, on the other hand, causes a sudden and prolonged fever.

2. Severe Headache

Typhoid is characterized by severe headaches and stomach pain. This is due to the bacteria’s ability to invade the intestines, various tissues, and organs of the body, causing significant stomach swelling.

3. Loss of appetite

You won’t be able to eat, you’ll sweat excessively, and you’ll have frequent diarrhea if you have typhoid. You may also experience a decrease of physical strength, be extremely weary, and experience sleeping sickness.

When it reaches a critical stage, the person will be unable to open their eyes fully or move their body.

4. Accumulation of chest fiulds

Some persons may have an excess of fluids in their chest. Some patients experience recurrence of symptoms after a few weeks of relief.
