EKO HOT BLOG reports that the troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) comprising Nigerian and Chadian officers of Operation Lake Sanity continued their operation against Boko Haram/Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) insurgents in the Lake Chad Basin Islands.

It was gathered that they successfully cleared Kangarwa, Metele and Dogon Chuku in Kukawa Local Government Area (LGA) in the northeastern Nigerian state of Borno, close to Lake Chad last Friday.

The troops made first contact with Boko Haram/ISWAP elements in the general area of Dogon Chuku and after a fierce exchange of fire, the Boko Haram insurgents attempted to flee.

The security forces neutralised several of the Boko Haram elements as they withdrew off balance with their casualties.
