EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Taraba state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to resign his position and apologize for failing Nigerians in the task of protecting the citizens.
The CAN chapter also called for the immediate dissolution of the entire federal cabinet to redeem the nation’s reputation before the international communities.
Rev. Isaiah Jirapye, the CAN Chairman who made the call while speaking to Naija News correspondent in Jalingo, expressed that the attack was a national embarrassment and so, President Buhari and the entire federal government owe Nigerians an apology.
The CAN Chairman who expressed displeasure over the situation where the military were allegedly withdrawn at the Kuje prison a few hours before the attack, said that it was purely a calculated and doctored arrangement by the federal government to embarrass the nation and her citizens.
This is a national embarrassment on Nigerians, how can terrorists invade a prison yard in the nation’s capital where all the security apparatus are?
“The federal government owe Nigerians an explanation for this incident act. President Buhari should resign, and the entire federal government should be dissolved immediately for failing Nigerians to this extent.
“This is highly disappointing on the side of the Nigeria security to Nigerians. Where were the operatives of the Nigeria correctional center that the terrorists were able to override the Kuje prison and freed their members? The federal government should step up and save the country from the potential danger by the escaped terrorists.
“The country and her citizens are no longer safe, if the federal government fail to step up the nation’s security, one day Aso rock would be overridden like the Kuje prison,” the CAN Chairman decried.
The chairman on behalf of the entire Christians in Taraba, also condoled with the Catholic Diocese of Zaria over the sudden demise of the Bishop, Most. Rev. George Jonathan Dodo.
