Lalong Has Revealed Buhari’s Role In Tinubu’s Campaign

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong has disclosed the important role President Muhammadu Buhari will play in the 2023 campaign bid of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Speaking on Wednesday at the presidential villa in Abuja, Lalong who is the Director-General (DG) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential council disclosed that President Buhari is the chairman of the Tinubu presidential campaign council.

Tinubu is the candidate of the APC for the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.

According to Lalong, he was at the Villa to brief the President about plans, developments and activities of the council in ensuring victory for Tinubu and the APC in the February 2023 elections.

He said, “the president is Chairman of the campaign council. Therefore, as DG, I will come regularly to brief him on certain things that we are planning.

“You know as DG of the campaign council I have to from time to time see the president who is our Chairman and keep him abreast of events.”

Meanwhile, Lalong has distanced himself from a group which staged a protest demanding that he turns down the job of Director General of the Tinubu/Shettima campaign organization.

Lalong, who visited President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday to show his appreciation for the approval of the University of Jos as a national cancer centre, told State House Correspondents, that being an ardent member of the Catholic faith does not stop him from accepting the appointment.

He went on to state that even the Pope is not angry with his decision to accept the job.
