Epe LG Chairman, Princess Animashaun Urges Residents To Obey Traffic Rules, Regulations

Princess Animashaun urged residents of Epe to obey traffic rules and regulations as Olu-Epe called for the ban on alcoholic beverages and substance sales at motor parks.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Chairman of Epe Local Government, Princess Surah Animashaun has urged its residents on the need to obey traffic rules and regulations.

She made the call over the weekend in Epe at the official launching and commissioning of three road traffic booths donated by the Epe Ogunmodede Club.
During her address, Princess Animashaun who was represented by Mr Ibrahim Oyase, praised the initiative of the club, stressing that the gesture was a testament to the Club’s readiness to support the various efforts of government in curbing the menace of road accidents.
Speaking in an interview with EKO HOT BLOG during the event which was held at Epe Court hall, the Chairman admonished the people thus:
“My advice to the people is that they should be tutored the rules and regulations guiding traffic and that there should be periodic sensitisation in the community. I’ve discovered that these Keke and okada riders know little about traffic regulations, there is a need for them to be carried along on the need for them to use the road appropriately.”
Meanwhile, the Olu-Epe of Epe kingdom, Oba Dr Shefiu Adewale, Bamgbopa Eshinlokun I, reiterated the need to sanitise all motor parks across the Local Government on the urgent need to stop the transactional activities of alcohol and substance vendors.
Ably represented by High Chief Muniru Badru, His royal Majesty in his goodwill message charged security agencies to swing into action to stop the sale of all forms of alcoholic beverages at Motor Parks in the community for the safety of lives.

“I will add to what the security agencies have said. The Police are responsible for this and the reason is that alcoholic beverages are sold across our motor parks. The majority of the drivers do not take alcohol from home but when they get to the motor parks, they take these substances while awaiting their turn to load passengers.
“Along the line, during the journey, they waste the precious lives of our people. On this note, I use this medium to call on our law enforcement agents and Chairman to assure that all alcoholic beverage vendors are flushed out of the motor parks,” he said.
