EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde on Friday said he would not accept the chairmanship of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum.

The PDP Governor noted that the claim in some quarters that he had been appointed as the chairman of the forum is a lie.
Makinde said if they give him the position, he will reject it because there must be an order.
According to Makinde, if the chairman of the forum, the Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal resigns, the deputy chairman of the forum, Okezie Ikpeazu is expected to take over.
The Oyo State Governor further stated that the south is not fighting for the office of the governor’s forum.
He wondered how PDP will restructure Nigeria as promised when it has not restructured the party.
Makinde said, “There are foundational issues. If you read the proceedings of the constitutional conferences that led to independence, you will know that there were issues. And since 1960, we have not been able to get things right.
“They said that military interregnum and their command structure affected us, but we have been practising democracy for 23 years now and we have not been able to take a path that can lead to sustainable development. This is what we are saying.”
