Eko Hot Blog reports that Dr. Mustapha, who gave the charge in his address at the Grand Finale of the 11th Annual Scientific Conference organised by the Forum for Local Government Nurses and Midwives (FOLGONM) Lagos State Chapter, held recently in Ikeja, said the State Government is always seeking better ways to reward nurses for an enhanced health service delivery to Lagosians.

His words: “The recent promise of salary increment and the directive that 40% of government housing projects be reserved for civil servants by the State Government are part of the welfare initiatives packaged for Public Servants, which includes health workers”.

While appreciating all the efforts of Nurses and Midwives in the health sector of the State, he encouraged them to approach their duties with a positive attitude in order to serve as role models to younger nurses who are new to the profession.

The conference was organised to equip nurses with skills to function optimally in a 21st-century health delivery system, and had seasoned facilitators who delivered papers on various topics, including ‘Mindset Dynamics as Determination of Attitudinal Change’, ‘Investing in Nursing Profession’ and ‘Respecting Nurses’ Right’ amongst others.
