Akeredolu who doubles as the Chairman of the Southwest Governors’ Forum spoke during the commissioning of the Flyover bridge built by Oyetola in Osogbo.
He appraised the different projects embarked upon by the Osun governor during his tenure in office despite the limited available resources.
In the statement made available to journalists by the Chief Press Secretary to the Ondo State Governor, Richard Olabode, on Thursday, Akeredolu described Oyetola as an achiever.
“You have proven that with the limited resources, you cared so much about your people. Anybody can say anything, but for us who are close to Osun State, we know you have done wonderfully well.”
Governor Akeredolu saluted Governor Oyetola for making the interest of the people the primary consideration of his administration.
He noted that the Osun State Governor has proven his commitment to his people by judiciously utilising the limited resources available to the state.
In his words: “I can beat my chest and say that nobody can beat your record. As you are struggling to get this mandate back, the record you have put down is there. We know the number of roads you have done. We know the Health Centers you have worked on. Congratulate yourself, you have done well.”
The Ondo State Governor was accompanied by some members of the State Executive Council led by the Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu.
While describing him as a reliable ally and performer, Governor Akeredolu said Governor Oyetola has served well and made sacrifices for the people of Osun.
Arakunrin Akeredolu hailed Oyetola for insisting on discharging the mandate given to him by the people of Osun state.
The Governor stressed that Governor Oyetola has discharged the trust reposed in him creditably, adding that posterity will remember him for the significant strides taken in governance amidst the myriad of challenges confronted by the State.
Governor Akeredolu said: “I recognise the crucial role which infrastructural development plays in the affairs of a society.
“It is given that living in an environment will be stress-free if the necessary socio-economic amenities are emplaced.
“The improvement on the quality of infrastructure in a society affects, positively, the living conditions of the people. They are the direct beneficiaries of projects such as this very important one we are commissioning today.”
Earlier at the Government House where he was received by Governor Oyetola, his deputy, Mr. Benedict Alabi, and other members of the state executive council, Governor Akeredolu said his Osun counterpart has done his best.
Governor Akeredolu, who thanked the Osun State Governor for the invitation to commission the Iconic Flyover, described the gesture as an honour.
“Inviting me to commission this project, I do not see it as an entitlement but a rare honour. I am very grateful,” Governor Akeredolu added.
Responding, Governor Oyetola thanked Governor Akeredolu for the love he always shows him and his administration.
He described Arakunrin Akeredolu as the commander of the Southwest Governors who has earned the forum’s respect.
