EFCC Records 19 Successful Sales Of Forfeited Properties In Abuja

EFCC has recorded 19 successful sales of the forfeited properties in Abuja.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, on Monday, said it has recorded 19 successful bids as the curtain was drawn on the sales of forfeited landed properties, in Abuja.
The properties, located in different parts of the country, were forfeited to the federal government, being proceeds of crimes established through judicial processes by the EFCC.

During Monday’s bidding exercise, being the final day for the sales, there were fresh bids for all the unsold properties in lots 4,5,6,7,8 and 9, where 19 successful bidders emerged before the close of sales at about 8:40 pm.
One of the winners, Henry Udeme, in an interview with journalists, commended the EFCC, adding that the exercise was transparent.
Udeme said, “The exercise on Monday is commendable, I have been coming here since last week to represent my boss, but we won today.
“I like the fact that it is transparent, I want the EFCC to extend this transparency to help Nigeria in other areas because so many people are looking up to the Commission.”
In his closing remarks, on Monday night, the Director of Proceeds of Crime Department, EFCC, Yusuf Aliu, who spoke on behalf of the Secretary to the Commission, George Ekpungu, thanked all participants and congratulated the winners.
Aliu said, “I want to appreciate you all for making this exercise a success, I congratulate the winners, and I also want to ask them to cooperate by making payments before the 15 days deadline, otherwise, we will give it to the next highest bidders.
