Traffic Advisory As Buhari Visits Lagos To Commission Projects Today

• President Muhammadu will pay a two-day working visit to Lagos on Monday, January 23, 2022.

• The government has announced that traffic will be controlled on various routes on Monday and there will be a diversion on the Island on Tuesday.

• The president is scheduled to inaugurate five projects during his visit.

Eko Hot Blog reports that President Muhammadu Buhari is set to pay a visit to Lagos State today, January 23, 2022.

According to the state government, the president is on a two-day working visit from Monday to Tuesday.

While in Lagos, Buhari is expected to commission five projects within the state.

At a press conference on Friday, Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Gbenga Omotoso, disclosed the projects to be inspected and commissioned by the president to include the Lekki Deep Sea Port, 32-metric tons per hour Lagos Rice Mill, 18.75-kilometre six-lane rigid-pavement Eleko Junction to Epe Expressway, John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History, and the Phase One of the iconic Lagos Blue Line rail project.

He is also expected to turn the sod for the second phase of the rail project.

In a related development, the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, said there will be restrictions on some roads including the Ademola Adetokunbo road on Victoria Island from 6am to 3pm on Tuesday, January 24, during Buhari’s visit.

In a statement on Saturday, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) said movement around the Lagos Rice Mill, Imota in Ikorodu, and the Lekki Deep Port Sea axis will be controlled on Monday,

On Tuesday, movement around Eko Hotels and Suites, Ahmadu Bello Way, J-Randle through to Broad Street and Outer Marina will be diverted from 6 am to 3 pm.

Drivers will be diverted from Ahmadu Bello Way, Ademola Adetokunbo and Akin Adesola Street to Falomo Bridge to Alfred Rewane Road to link their destinations.

Motorists that are headed to Onikan from Ozumba Mbadiwe and Bonny Camp are to ply off Falomo Bridge or Awolowo Road.

Those from Awolowo Road heading to Onikan Roundabout, Tinubu Square or any other part of the inner Island can make use of Falomo Roundabout to link Alfred Rewane.

Also, motorists from King George V Road can connect Moloney Street and then Obalende or link Turton Street through Moloney Street to Lewis and Sandgrouse Streets.

Motorists from Eko Bridge, trying to link Marina will be diverted to Elegbata, Ebute Ero to Police Post to link to the Third Mainland Bridge (Adeniji Adele).

The state traffic management agency also added that all adjourning streets leading to the dedicated routes for the presidential movement will be temporarily shut.
