EKO HOT BLOG reports on the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s promise to tackle Nigeria’s high unemployment rate within his first four years as president should he be elected in next month’s election.
In a speech made during a presidential campaign at the U.J Esuene Sports Stadium in Calabar on Tuesday, Tinubu addressed a crowd of party members and supporters and said,
“I will check youths unemployment in this country. I will reduce it by more than half, if voted into power next month.”

Tinubu stated his plans to make Nigeria prosperous, to consolidate agriculture as the country’s traditional backbone, and to acknowledge the growing importance of the urban population.
He also promised that Nigerian cities and towns will experience an unprecedented level of industrial activity, with the youth becoming leading catalysts in driving economic resurgence.
The presidential candidate pledged to adjust the allocation of revenue between the federal and state governments to give states more flexibility to promote grassroots economic development.
“Our government will give priority to encouraging industries vital to national development by growing our industrial base to provide jobs to an expanding urban population,” Tinubu said.
Tinubu’s promise to tackle the issue of unemployment in Nigeria and his plans to spur economic growth through industrialization has generated a positive response from his supporters and the general public.
