In a presidential campaign rally held at Ekwueme Square in Awka, the capital of Anambra State, All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Bola Tinubu cautioned voters against choosing his Labour Party counterpart, Peter Obi.

Tinubu referenced the Bible and likened Obi to Peter, who denied Jesus three times before the cock crowed. The APC candidate warned that just as Peter broke his promise to Jesus, Obi would also break his promises to the people of Anambra.

Tinubu went on to describe himself as a smart leader who never shut down markets or caused harm to anyone. He expressed confidence in himself and urged voters to choose a leader who can keep their promises.

In a quote from the campaign to Anambra State people, Mr. Tinubu states:

“I’m not afraid of anybody, and I don’t worry. The man who left here, he calls himself Peter Obi. We read in the Bible that before the cock crows three times, he will deny Jesus Christ.

“Before cock crows, he denied. So how can he keep a promise to you? He who cannot keep a promise to God.”
