Peter Obi Floors 8 Local Governments In Plateau State

  • Peter Obi according to the on-going collation of votes, is reportedly leading in 8 Local government areas of Plateau State at the moment.

  • This comes in response to results announced by collation officers who collated the results from the State.

  • The former Anambra State governor has earlier been declared winner of South Western state, Lagos.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that in the ongoing presidential election, the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Peter Obi, has secured a significant lead in Plateau State. As per the latest announcement, he has won eight out of the ten local government areas declared so far.

According to the Collation Officers, Prof. John Egbere (Jos South), Mr Benjamin Ekoja (Bassa), and Mr Jack Domi (Mangu), Obi secured victories in Barkin Ladi, Riyom, Jos East, Langtang North, Bokkos, Mangu, Bassa, and Jos South LGAs. On the other hand, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, managed to secure wins in only two LGAs.

The voting figures released by the Collation Officers are as follows:

In Jos South LGA, the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured 15,985 votes, while the PDP managed to garner 13,803 votes. However, Obi’s LP secured an impressive 112,874 votes, making it the clear winner in this LGA.

In Mangu LGA, the APC secured 22,691 votes, while the PDP received 27,013 votes. However, Obi’s LP again emerged victorious with 39,387 votes.

In Bassa LGA, the APC received 16,007 votes, and the PDP received 11,306 votes. However, LP secured 28,226 votes to win the LGA.

In Kanke LGA, the APC managed to secure 13,438 votes, while the PDP received 10,358 votes. Obi’s LP came in second with 13,194 votes.

The announcement of these results has caused a stir among political observers and stakeholders in the state. The victory of the LP candidate in eight LGAs is considered a significant upset, and it remains to be seen if this trend will continue in the remaining LGAs yet to be declared.
