Eko Hot Blog reports that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has said he will prove to Nigerians that he won the February 25, 2023, election.

He made the statement at a press conference on Thursday in Abuja.
Obi said he will explore all legal avenues to recover his mandate.
“We will explore all legal and peaceful option to reclaim our mandate. We won the election and we will prove it to Nigerians,” he said.
“I am challenging the process. If you must be referred to as ‘Your Excellency’, then the process through which you arrived in office must be excellent.”

The LP presidential candidate, speaking at his first media appearance after the declaration of a winner in the presidential contest, said the election was unfair.
“This is very unfair. It is the least expected of Nigeria,” he said.
Obi lamented that Nigeria could not conduct a free and fair election 63 years after independence.
He said the election did not meet the minimum standard for a free and fair election, adding that the poll will go down as the most controversial election conducted in Nigeria.
Obi also said himself and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed remain committed to a new Nigeria.
The former Anambra governor, who thanked his youthful followers known as ‘Obidients’, urged them not to be deterred by the outcome of the polls.
“We will work for that new Nigeria that is possible,” he said. “Datti and I remain committed to that new Nigeria.”
Earlier on Wednesday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced Tinubu as the winner of the election having secured 8,794,726 votes to defeat Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who got 6,984,520 votes, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) who polled 6,101,533 votes.
