Plateau Decides: Governor Lalong Hails INEC Over ‘Seamless’ Electoral Process, Decries Low Turnout

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Plateau State outgoing governor, Simon Lalong, has hailed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for making the March 18 governorship election a seamless one.
However, Governor Lalong who voted at the Polling Unit 015, Kurumbo ward B of Shendam Local Government Area of Plateau State alongside his wife, Regina, around noon, decried the low turnout reported across the state.

Lalong said the procedure ran without a hitch because the BVAS system authenticated him in less than two minutes, enabling him to cast his vote.
He told reporters after casting his vote that the reports he had received from different regions of the State suggested that the election was going off without a hitch except for the low turnout that was seen in some areas.
On the likelihood of the APC winning, Lalong expressed optimism that Plateau State voters would choose Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda to succeed him as governor as well as other party candidates to represent various seats in the State House of Assembly.
