1. ICPC arrests four vote-buyers in Sokoto, Katsina states
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission has arrested four vote-buyers in Sokoto and Katsina states during the governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections on Saturday.
Its election monitoring operations across the states of the federation on Saturday, March 18, officers of the anti-corruption agency encountered some vote-buyers at Kauran Miyo Primary School in Bodingo Town of Bodinga Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The spokesperson for the ICPC, Azuka Ogugua, revealed this on Saturday night in a statement obtained by our correspondent.
2. Vote buying, aparthy mar Gombe polls
Some party agents were on Saturday arrested by a detachment of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission at Buhari Primary School Nayinawa area of Gombe State for attempting to buy votes.
An voter at polling unit 22, Pantami ward, who pleaded anonymity, said they chose to call the operatives of the anti graft agency after the police officers attached to the polling unit failed to stop the illegal activities.
Our correspondent reports that about two party officials were whisked away to EFCC’s zonal office for interrogation before they were released.
3. Ibrahimovic becomes oldest scorer in Serie A history
Zlatan Ibrahimovic became the oldest goalscorer in the history of Serie A on Saturday after scoring a penalty at Udinese in his first AC Milan start in over a year.
The veteran striker, who was recently recalled to the Sweden national team, smashed home a penalty at the second attempt in first half stoppage time to make the score 1-1.
He missed his first spot-kick but was given a second chance when Beto was penalised for encroachment, and crashed his shot down the middle of the goal.

4. 2023 gov elections: EFCC arrests 65 persons for alleged vote-buying
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has arrested no fewer than 65 persons over alleged vote-buying, across the 28 states where governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections were conducted.
The Head, Media and Publicity, EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.
According to the agency, 20 of the suspects were arrested by operatives from the Ilorin Zonal Command while 13 suspects were nabbed by operatives on election monitoring duty at the Kaduna Zonal Command.
5. Folarin loses polling unit to Makinde
The All Progreasives Congress, APC gubernatorial candidate, Teslim Folarin lost his polling unit at Idi Ose, Ona Ara Local Government to Governor ‘Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Folarin polled 89 votes, Adelabu polled 6 votes, while Makinde polled 196 votes.
Meanwhile, Makinde who voted at ward 11, Unit 01, Abayomi Iwo-Road in Ibadan North East Local Government Area also won in his polling unit, where he polled 174 votes while the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 28, Accord Party scored 5, Labour Party scored 3 votes. Four votes were voided.
6. INEC shifts election for Bokkos LGA in Plateau to Sunday
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has shifted Saturday’s governorship and States Houses of Assembly elections in Butura Ward in Bokkos Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau to Sunday, due to logistics problem.
Dr Oliver Agundu, the state INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) said this when he spoke with newsmen in Jos on Saturday.
Agundu said that election materials such as ballot papers meant for the ward were taken to another LGA in error.
He said that in order not to disenfranchise members of the community, the election in the area would now hold on Sunday, March 19.

7. Abiodun, Deputy, Adeola win polling units for APC
Ogun Governor Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has delivered his Polling Unit 2, Ward 3, Ita Osanyin, Iperu Remo in Ikenne local government.
Abiodun polled 147 votes to defeat his closest rival, Hon Ladipupo Adebutu of PDP who scored 142 votes.
Senator Ibikunle Amosun backed – Barr. Biyi Otegbeye of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled two votes.
8. PDP’s Fintiri beating APC’s Binani in Adamawa units
overnor Ahmadu Umaru Fintri of Adamawa State, who is the gubernatorial flagbearer in Saturday’ election, is ahead in some units declared so far.
He is leading Aishatu Binani, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

9. Old naira notes being used for vote buying in Kaduna – Shehu Sani
Former federal lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has alleged that some politicians are using the old naira notes to buy votes in Kaduna State.
In a tweet on Saturday night, the former governorship aspirant in Kaduna State, said people were being paid N1000 to N2000 to vote for a particular party.
He wrote, “The old Naira notes that were made a legal tender by the Supreme Court became the tool for vote buying in Kaduna State.
