EKO HOT BLOG reports that Premier League, FIFA, Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, and former Crystal Palace star, Yannick Bolasie, have expressed their reactions to the retirement announcement of former Arsenal and Real Madrid playmaker, Mesut Ozil, from football.
Ozil, who had been playing in the Turkish Super Lig for the past three years, took to his Twitter account on Wednesday to announce his decision to retire from football due to recent injuries he has suffered. The 34-year-old retired after making four appearances for Basaksehir.

Reacting to the news, Premier League and FIFA took to Twitter to wish the former Germany international well in his future endeavours. The Premier League tweeted, “Wishing you a happy and healthy retirement, Mesut!” while FIFA tweeted, “Wishing you all the best for the future, Mesut.”
Meanwhile, Kevin De Bruyne, a midfielder for Manchester City, referred to Ozil as a “legend” in his tweet reacting to the announcement.
Former Crystal Palace star, Yannick Bolasie, also expressed his admiration for the retired playmaker, stating that it was a pleasure to play against him and watch him play for Arsenal, adding that Ozil was a magician on the pitch.
Mesut Ozil had an illustrious career, playing for top clubs such as Arsenal and Real Madrid. He won three FA Cups, a La Liga title, and a German Cup during his career, in addition to several individual awards. Ozil was known for his creative abilities on the pitch, with his vision and passing skills often leading to goals for his team.
