Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp revealed that his team lost the game because they conceded two quick-fire goals in the second half, which broke the momentum of the team and allowed City to take full control of the match.

The German tactician expressed his frustration over the way his team conceded the goals, saying that they did not put in a challenge for either.

“It was unlucky how the ball went through Robertson’s legs, and they finished it off, but coming out after halftime and conceding two quick goals broke everything down,” Klopp told BBC Sport. “The goals, how we conceded is difficult to accept – we did not put in a challenge for either.”

Klopp acknowledged that City dominated the game after Liverpool’s lapse in concentration and was fortunate that the home side did not add to their tally. “That is absolutely not acceptable, to be honest. City completely in control after that, and we were open, and they could do whatever they wanted. We were lucky they were not in a greedy mood,” he added.
