EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a surprising turn of events, Chelsea Football Club has announced the departure of Graham Potter as the first-team manager. The club has issued a statement on their official website confirming that the Englishman has been relieved of his duties, with immediate effect.

Chelsea FC said in their statement, “Chelsea FC has announced that Graham Potter has departed the club. Graham has agreed to collaborate with the Club to facilitate a smooth transition.” The club also acknowledged the manager’s efforts in leading the team to the quarterfinals of the Champions League, where they will be facing Real Madrid.

The statement further added, “Chelsea would like to thank Graham for all his efforts and contribution and wish him well for the future.”

Bruno Saltor has been named as the Interim Head Coach, who will take charge of the team until a permanent replacement is found. Saltor’s immediate task would be to lead the team through the remainder of the season, with 10 Premier League games remaining and the all-important Champions League quarterfinals to come.

Owners of the club, Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, expressed their gratitude towards Potter, saying, “On behalf of everyone at the club, we want to thank Graham sincerely for his contribution to Chelsea. He has always conducted himself with professionalism and integrity and we are all disappointed in this outcome.”

Despite the disappointment of Potter’s departure, the club is determined to end the season on a high. The owners mentioned, “Along with our incredible fans, we will all be getting behind Bruno and the team as we focus on the rest of the season. We will put every effort and commitment into every one of those games so that we can end the season on a high.”
