Impeachment Reversed: Nuhu Abok Returns As Plateau State Assembly Speaker

• Plateau State House of Assembly Speaker, Nuhu Abok, has been reinstated by a Plateau High Court.

• The court found his impeachment by the Assembly in October 2021 to be illegal and null and void.

• The court has also awarded him N1.5 million as the cost of appearance and N138,000 as the cost of filing the matter against the defenders.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Nuhu Abok on Monday was restated as the Speaker, of the Plateau State House of Assembly.

A Plateau High Court on Monday presided over by Justice M. L Musa reinstated Abok as Speaker.

It would be recalled that Abok was impeached by the Assembly in October 2021.

However, in its judgment today Justice Musa held the submissions of the complainants that the impeachment was illegal and therefore null and void.

The Court also awarded N1.5 million as the cost of appearance and N138,000 as the cost of filing the matter against the defenders.
