The rapper had placed a bet on Israel Adesanya emerging victorious in the challenge, which ironically debunks an alleged Drake curse that has been flying the internet for years now.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that famous rapper Drake is reportedly $2.7 million richer after betting on Israel Adesanya to defeat Alex Pereira in the UFC 287 Middleweight Championship fight.
Adesanya, a Nigerian-born New Zealander, won back the 185lb title just five months after he lost it to his fierce rival Pereira, who had previously beaten him twice in kickboxing.

Drake had previously lost $1.6 million when he backed Adesanya to win the first fight against Pereira, but he made amends by betting $500,000 on Adesanya to win the rematch, which returned him $885,000. Additionally, he also placed a $400,000 bet on Adesanya to win by knockout, which earned him a massive $1.8 million.
After his victory, Adesanya acknowledged Drake’s bet and said, “Shoutout to everyone that bet on me but you have to realise that when I step into the octagon I put my life on the line. That’s the biggest parlay you can ever do. I’m a betting man too so shoutout to stake, we are about to make another deal and get more money.”
The rapper’s massive win has drawn attention from sports betting enthusiasts and fans alike, with many congratulating him on his successful bets. Drake’s involvement in sports betting is nothing new, as the Grammy Award-winning artist has previously been seen attending various sporting events and making sizeable bets on teams and players.
