EKO HOT BLOG reports that Amos Obeten, a pastor based in Calabar, Nigeria, has come forward with a shocking revelation that a bishop almost initiated him into a cult group 23 years ago. The disclosure came after veteran actor Yemi Solade made a statement asserting that being part of a cult group is necessary to survive in Nigeria.
Speaking in response to Yemi Solade, Pastor Obeten revealed that he was a young man then and had gone to the bishop for spiritual guidance. However, he was surprised when the bishop started asking him to join a cult group, assuring him that it was the only way to become successful in Nigeria.

According to Pastor Obeten, he almost got initiated into a cult outside the country on one of his journeys for ministration. He stressed that what saved him was his commitment to the ‘Holy Ghost’, with his experience making him question the credibility of some religious leaders in the country.
Nigeria has been battling with the problem of cultism for several years, with many young people joining such groups for various reasons, including protection, power, and financial gain. However, the government and law enforcement agencies have been cracking down on these groups in recent years.
“My brother, it is a very bitter truth. Do you know as a very young preacher 23 years ago a Bishop almost initiated me into a cult outside the country when we travelled together for a ministration, what saved me was my commitment to the holy ghost!”
