Terrifying Footage: 7-Storey Building Crumbles in Lagos

However, a seven-storey building collapsed on Wednesday in Lagos.
Eko Hot Blog reports that a seven-storey building under construction has collapsed in the Banana Island, Ikoyi, area of Lagos State.
The building caved in on Wednesday afternoon when some of the construction workers on site had closed for the day.

However, some of the workers remained and were injured due to the collapse.
In a statement Wednesday evening, Mukaila Sanusi, the Deputy Director, Public Affairs, Lagos Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, said the building was unapproved.
The ministry spokesperson disclosed that no fatality was recorded but few who sustained injuries are being treated.
“This unfortunate incident happened while casting was being done,” he said.
According to the statement, the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Engr. Tayo Bamgbose-Martins was immediately on site to assess the situation and flag off an investigation.
