No One Remembers You Finishing Second — Ferdinand Warns Arsenal
-
Rio Ferdinand sets the record straight concerning Arsenal’s season should they fail to win the premier league against Manchester City.
-
According to the former defender, in contrast to Manchester United, Arsenal players cannot brag about a great season should they come second.
-
This Rio Ferdinand attributes to the fact no one remembers who finishes second in a competition as it leaves no memory or history to remark on.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that Rio Ferdinand, the former Manchester United defender, has claimed that the Red Devils will end the season happier than Arsenal, insisting that winning a trophy is more important than finishing second in the Premier League.
Ferdinand made the comments after Manchester United won the Carabao Cup this season, and with eight games remaining, they currently sit in third place in the league.

In contrast, Arsenal have been knocked out of all cup competitions and have been battling with Manchester City for the Premier League title.
The Gunners were previously eight points clear at the top of the table, but now sit five points above Manchester City, who have two games in hand.
Ahead of a crucial game between Manchester City and Arsenal on Wednesday, Ferdinand said: “I said, Man Utd, if they finish third and win the Carabao Cup, they would have had a better season than if Arsenal finish second now without a trophy.
“My point was who was happiest! When you retire, and someone goes ‘oh what a season that was’ – they are not going to say that about finishing second.”
Ferdinand emphasized that he remembers the years he won trophies, such as the Champions League, Premier League, and the Carabao Cup, and not the years he finished second.
