SERAP To Buhari: Probe Missing 149 Million Barrels Of Crude Oil Or Face Legal Action

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to establish presidential panel of enquiry to probe the allegations of missing 149 million barrels of crude oil.

Recall that a document in the 2019 audited reports by the Auditor General of the Federation and Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI), revealed that 146 million barrels of crude oil is missing.

In a statement on Sunday, SERAP’s deputy director, Kolawole Oluwadare urged Buhari to ensure that those responsible were probed and prosecuted.

The group said Buhari’s government has 7 days to commence the probe or face legal action.
