EKO HOT BLOG reports that It was a heartwarming reunion of old friends and mentors as the alumni of Army Children High School (ACHS) gathered together once again after several years. The air was filled with excitement and nostalgia as the former students of the renowned secondary institution convened in Epe, Lagos State on April 22, 2023 to relive cherished memories, honor their teachers, and give back to their alma mater. It was an unforgettable event that showcased the strong bond between the alumni and ACHS, a testament to the enduring legacy of this esteemed academic institution.
The Coordinator, Mrs Adelakun Olamiji, while unveiling the beehive of activities lined up for the two-day event said that it was not just about appreciating their teachers and giving back to the school, but also an opportunity for old classmates to catch up with one another.

The 1994/1995 set reunion witnessed the donation of projects to their alma mater, including the inauguration of two classrooms – one in the junior school and another in the senior school – which were renovated. The alumni also donated chairs and tables, which would provide a more conducive environment for the students.
Day One of the reunion programme kicked off on the school’s assembly ground with Alfa Mustapha of the ’95 set leading the opening prayer. Thereafter, the Vice Chairman of the Army Children High School Old Students Association (ACHOSA), Mrs Adelakun Olamiji, introduced everyone from the 1995 set present, and the principal of the Army Children High School, Epe, Mr. Olufemi Bamidele, expressed his joy at the presence of the old students.
Delivering his remarks, Mr. Bamidele noted the accomplishments of some of the alumni and how their achievements inspire the current breed of students. He encouraged the alumni to take out time to guide the current students towards achieving their goals.
Giving a speech titled, “Respect for God and Respect for People,” Pastor Kingsley Orisawemi of the ’95 set urged the students to be of good behavior and better ambassadors of the school community. Tomilola Ajetunmobi of the ’95 set also addressed the students about wrong associations and how it can change their perspectives and make them better individuals.
The alumni took time to reminisce about their past experiences, and the cultural presentation by the students of Army Children High School was a highlight of the event. The performances showcased different traditional dances, including the Bata dance, Yoruba dance, and Zulu dance. The students dressed in colorful traditional attire, captivated the audience with their skills in drumming and dancing.
The second day of the reunion program was an opportunity for the alumni to give back to their alma mater. They donated projects, including chairs and tables, renovated two classrooms – one in the junior school and another in the senior school – and presented awards of excellence to deserving teachers who had made significant impacts in their lives. The recipients of the awards were recognized for their hard work and dedication, and they were filled with joy and gratitude for the honor bestowed upon them.
The alumni also gifted a mini Hi Fi sound system to Mrs Josephine, the lucky winner of the raffle draw. During the award presentation ceremony, the students who dazzled the occasion with their lively performance were also presented with gifts.
The Reunion event was not just about appreciating their teachers and giving back to the school, it was also an opportunity for old classmates to catch up with one another. The alumni took pictures with the teachers present before proceeding to dance and merry. It was indeed an exciting atmosphere as old memories were rekindled and new ones created.

In an interview with Eko Hot Blog, Mrs Adelakun Olamiji expressed her appreciation to God for the success of the event and advised younger ones to do better than they did. She noted that the reunion was necessary, as it provided an opportunity for the alumni to contribute to the growth and development of their alma mater.
The Army Children High School 1994/1995 Alumni Reunion event was a huge success, and everyone present left with happy memories they will cherish for years to come.
