Festival Mood In Epe As Kayo Kayo Committee Declares Commencement Of Festival In Lagos
– The long awaited Epe cultural festival, Kayo Kayo, has started
– The festival began at his royal palace, Olu- Epe of Epe Kingdom, Oba Shefiu Adewale
– Its grand finale is said to feature the carnival procession, musical performance of hip hop artist and one of the leading Fuji artist, Alhaji Shefiu Alao
The organised committee of Kayo Kayo has declared the commencement of Epe cultural festival, in the palace of Olu- Epe of Epe Kingdom, Oba Shefiu Adewale.
The festival which would be celebrated for seven days was on Friday, September 21, opened with a press conference in Epe, Lagos state.
The release which was signed by Otunba TJ Abass stated that the festival has been celebrated since 1851.

The release read: “This year’s celebrations shows that each day of the eight-day fiesta is occupied with an activities – beginning from the 20th, and these include Children activities, Youth Rally, Carnival Procession, Commemoration of Royal day as well as Musical performance by top rated hip -hop artists.
“Other events lined up include visitation to historical sites,empowerement of indigenes Islamic and cultural competitions, scholarship award and raffle draw with a car as star price.”
On his part, the coordinator of the Festival Committee, Allhaji Saliu Okulu, said the chairman of this year’s celebrations is Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Former Minister for Defense while the Chairperson of the event is the wife of the Deputy Governor of the State, Mrs Oluremi Hamzat.
While thanking last year sponsors like MTN, Binatone, Intercontinetal Distillers and Lagos State Inland Revenue Service, Allaji said the festival provided a great investment and trading opportunity to leverage from.

According to him, “the grand finale of the festival comes up on the 28th of September at the Marina Water front.
“the grand finale will feature the carnival procession,musical performance of hip hop artist and one of the leading Fuji artist, Alhaji Shefiu Alao.”
