APC Vows To Battle For The Soul Of The National Assembly
  • APC prepared to fight hard against the opposition from seizing control of the Nigerian national assembly.

  • This was stressed by the National Vice Chairman of the party, Isaacs Kekemeke while representing the President-elect at a function.

  • He also emphasized that the party’s leadership, in conjunction with the President-elect, is working diligently to address any perceived acrimony within its ranks.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the All Progressive Congress (APC) has expressed confidence that the opposition will not seize control of the National Assembly, asserting that the party is committed to resolving internal differences ahead of the upcoming session.

Isaacs Kekemeke, the National Vice Chairman (Southwest) of the APC, made this declaration while representing President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu at a lecture held in honor of Afenifere leader Chief Reuben Fasoranti, on the occasion of his 97th birthday.

Kekemeke assured party members and supporters that the APC still has ample time to reconcile with disgruntled factions before the inauguration of the National Assembly next month.

He emphasized that the party’s leadership, in conjunction with the President-elect, is working diligently to address any perceived acrimony within its ranks, as part of the democratic process.

“The opposition will not take over the National Assembly,” Kekemeke asserted.

“The national working committee of our great party is engaging with aspirants for the House of Representatives and the Senate, and in a short while, everything will be resolved. There is no cause for alarm. This is a normal occurrence, and our party believes in democratic engagement. We all know that the President-elect is an engager.”

Responding to queries about Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s dissenting stance on the party’s decision, Kekemeke acknowledged the governor’s reputation for fearlessness and justice.

However, he expressed confidence that Akeredolu would be further briefed, aligning his position with that of the party and the President-elect. Kekemeke anticipated that the reasons behind the party’s decisions would be clarified to the governor.

In a message from Tinubu to Pa Fasoranti, Kekemeke conveyed the President-elect’s deep respect for the Afenifere leader. As Tinubu was currently out of the country, he had entrusted Kekemeke with delivering his message.

The representative affirmed that Tinubu’s prayers for Fasoranti during his election campaign had been answered, and he reiterated the President-elect’s commitment to fulfilling campaign promises and bringing renewed hope to Nigeria.

As the National Assembly’s inauguration draws nearer, the APC remains determined to reconcile internal differences, ensuring a unified front in the legislature.
