EFCC Raises Fresh Alarm Says, High-Profile Politicians, Corrupt Govs Planning Mass Exodus From Nigeria Before May 29

  • The EFCC has issued a warning, stating that there is a planned mass exodus of high-profile politicians and corrupt governors from Nigeria before May 29.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has issued a warning to the general public regarding the purported intentions of certain governors and politicians implicated in corruption scandals, who are allegedly planning to escape abroad before the May 29 transition of power.

The alarm was raised by Wilson Uwujaren, spokesperson of the EFCC, in a statement released on Friday night.

The commission said it is currently collaborating with its international partners to ensure that the plans are frustrated.

The commission vowed that all political actors involved in corruption while in public office must be brought to justice.

The statement reads partly, “Again, the Commission wishes to alert the public about plans by some of the alleged corrupt politically exposed persons to flee the country ahead of May 29.
