Subsidy Removal: Government Working On Soft Landing- APC Governors

Eko Hot Blog reports that Governors from the All Progressives Party, APC have assured Nigerians that the government is working on implementing the removal of fuel Subsidy in a manner that will not be too hard on the people.

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, who is also the Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum, made the above known while speaking to journalists at the APC National Secretariat, shortly after a meeting with the party’s National Working Committee.

Governor Uzodinma said the present administration of President Bola Tinubu is only implementing what the immediate past Buhari government started.

“On the issue of fuel subsidy, all the presidential candidates during the campaigns, all promised that they will remove fuel subsidy.

“The incumbent government before he left, made us to know that fuel subsidy is no longer sustainable. What we are talking about now is the implementation process. How to implement the program in a manner that it will not be too hard on the people. And I think the government is working on it.

“I have confidence on the ability of the current president, to navigate through the waters and take decisions that will be to the best interest of our people and the country as a nation” Uzodinma said.

Speaking on the election of leadership of the incoming 10th National Assembly, he said the party would continue to convince and talk to stakeholders to resolve issues surrounding the selection.

He added that the APC governors would implement the party’s manifesto in their various states.
