Rotary Club Of Lagos To Commission Six Classrooms, BoI-funded Library At Ilara Model School In Epe

Eko Hot Blog reports that the Rotary Club of Lagos has announced that it will commission a block of six classrooms and a fully equipped library at the Ilara Model Primary School, Ilara, Epe, Lagos, on Monday, June 26, 2023.
The announcement is contained in an invitation letter obtained by our correspondent on Wednesday.

The club said the projects align with the Rotary area of focus of Basic Education and Literacy.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the library was equipped from funds donated by the Bank of Industry (BoI).
The Rotary Club of Lagos, therefore, invited Mr. Olukayode Pitan, the BoI Managing Director, to the project commissioning as a special guest.
In an invitation letter signed by the Rotary Club of Lagos District 9110’s President, Mr. Joseph Akhigbe and Mr. Eki Eboigbe, the club thanked BoI for its “kind gesture.”
“We write to invite you as our Special Guest to the commissioning and official handover of our star project i.e. the Ilara Model Primary School Complex, llara Community, Epe, Lagos State,” the letter reads.
“The project includes a brand new block of six (6) classrooms with furniture and fittings and a newly equipped library with books and other educational materials.
“The event is scheduled to hold on Monday 26th June, 2023 at the llara Model School Complex, Igboku area along llara-Igbonla Road, Eredo LCDA, llara, Epe Division, Epe, Lagos at 11:00am prompt.
“The library has been equipped from the donation that your bank made to our club for which we are very grateful. We will also be commissioning the library on that day, and will therefore appreciate your presence as we will like to acknowledge your kind gesture.
“We look forward to hosting you at the event.”
The event’s Chief Host is Rtn. Akhigbe, the President, Rotary Club of Lagos, while the Host is Rtn. Omotunde Lawson, the District Governor.
HRM Oba Kayode Ogunsanwo (Telade IV), the Alara of Ilara Kingdom, is the Royal Father of the Day, while Dr. Bisi Onasanya, the Chairman of The Address Homes Ltd, will chair the occasion.
In an interview with Eko Hot Blog, Oba Ogunsanwo spoke about the significance of the project commissioning, stating that education is the bedrock for more development in society.
He hailed the Rotary Club of Lagos and BoI for their efforts in raising the fortunes of education in Ilara Kingdom.
The monarch noted that the school project is one of many sponsored by various individuals and organisations in the community.
The monarch mentioned the Skills Acquisition Centre set up by Hon. Wale Raji, the lawmaker representing Epe Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, as one of such projects.
In addition to being the custodian of the Ilara culture, Oba Ogunsanwo noted that his primary goal is to open up the community for further development and progress in sectors such as the economy and education.
According to the royal father, the proper education of children will help them become the best version of themselves and transform their community.
