Eko Hot Blog reports that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has sworn in 2,548 2023 batch B Stream 1 corps members to undergo the one-year mandatory national service in Lagos State.

The Lagos State coordinator of the NYSC, Mrs. Yetunde A. Baderinwa, made the disclosure on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Orientation Camp in Iyana Ipaja, Lagos.

Speaking at the swearing in ceremony monitored by Eko Hot Blog, Mrs. Baderinwa noted that the newly sworn in corps members consist of 1,018 males and 1,530 females.

The NYSC coordinator encouraged the corps members to be patriotic in their approach to the national service.

She mentioned that the NYSC scheme is centred on shaping youths for a good beginning and a better tomorrow.

Mrs. Baderinwa also stated that the orientation process stands as a revolutionary measure to educate and mould them to fit in any where they find themselves.

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babatunde Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Mr. Sesan Tunde Ogundeko, stated that Lagos is a land of opportunities and it has continued to make the dreams of many come true.

“I therefore charge you to seize the opportunity of national Service to fashion out yourself a path for greatness and self-fulfillment,” he said.

The governor also encouraged the corps members to take the work they will be assigned to in different communities seriously as their diligence will make a difference in the lives of the people they serve.
