Eko Hot Blog reports that former Big Brother Naija (BBN) housemate, Hermes Chibueze Iyele, has opened up about the significant impact his mother’s absence had on his adult life.

In a candid revelation, Hermes shared that while his father raised him and his siblings single-handedly, he always instructed them not to harbor any hatred towards their mother.

Speaking on the latest episode of The Nancy Isime Show, alongside his colleague Phyna, the reality star reminisced about how not having his mother present during his upbringing affected him deeply.

He recalled moments of heartbreak when he witnessed other students’ mothers attending Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meetings, while his own mother was nowhere to be seen.

Hermes expressed his longing for his mother’s presence, envisioning how her involvement in his life could have brought him more friends and happiness. Despite the absence of his mother, he credits his father for being the silver lining in his life and the reason he still believes in giving love.

During a discussion on the show about gender roles in childcare, Hermes felt personally attacked when someone suggested that men couldn’t care for children as effectively as women.

He passionately defended his father’s parenting skills, emphasising that his dad did an exceptional job raising him and his younger siblings. Despite facing challenges, including working hard to support and educate them, his father’s dedication and love left a lasting impact on his life.

Hermes Chibueze Iyele’s heartfelt revelations shed light on the emotional journey he has traversed, shaped by the absence of his mother and the unwavering love of his father.

As he continues his post-BBN journey, he remains an inspiring figure for many who can relate to the complexities of family dynamics and the resilience it takes to navigate life’s challenges.
